The disposal of sewage sludge is becoming increasingly difficult. Local disposal options, such as agricultural application, will steadily decrease in the future. In many regions, this disposal option has been blocked already. As a result, the sewage sludge disposal ways are becoming longer and longer, but the transport of dewatered sewage sludge, which mainly consists of water, is expensive and unfavourable also under ecological aspects.
The solution:
Compared to dewatered sludge, dried sludge has much less mass and also less volume, which significantly reduces transport costs.
