Wastewater Screens

Screening - indispensable as a first step !

Subordinated Product Groups

  • Brochure: Screens for high wastewater flows

Coarse solids must be removed to protect downstream equipment and processes from clogging.

Screens should be efficient, reliable and sturdy. They should be easy and must be safe to operate and maintain. Of course, they should not require much operator attention.

Washing, dewatering and compaction of the separated screenings is important for several reasons:

  • Prevention of odor nuisance
  • Prevention of diseases
  • Reduction of volume, weight and disposal costs
  • Return of degradable BOD into the wastewater flow to improve denitrification processes

The following diagram indicates what sort and size of material can be removed with what kind of Huber equipment, either by screening or by sedimentation (e.g. grit).
